Catch-22

Following on from my (all too delayed) Live At The Brain posts, and Dalston Shopper's kind comments, thought I'd continue in a similar vein, at least for the time being.

I think I went on a bit of a mission at the Record & Tape Exchange after I discovered the two Live At The Brain albums, as I seem to have amassed a number of 12"'s by artists that were on them. For some reason, my memory of these purchases seems to be mysteriously vague...

Anyhow, to this end, see below for a Sheep On Drugs 12", which isn't at all bad. Actually, it's pretty damn good, though sadly it does not quite reach the heights of Out Come The Freaks:

A1 Catch-22

B1 Drug Music

Thanks for this - you're right though, it isn't really as good as Out Come The Freaks. I like the lyrics though: "DRUG MUSIC! DRUG MUSIC!"
Funny.

Also a question: why the iPod-centric m4a file format rather than the more universal mp3?

KK,

Small world. I picked up Massif from your blog some time ago, and it was doing so that actually made me remember that I had Live At The Brain 1 & 2 on vinyl. I had spent ages searching for it online, but with no luck.

Anyway, as a result of all this, I finally got a USB turntable (you can see my rather tedious musing on this in the blog), and the rest, as they say, is history...

Although I've not got round to it, I have a number of other 12"'s by artists on LATB, and also XL Recordings: The ... Chapters, which I will post when I get round to it. One of the first of these will be one by Mr. Monday (exact name of 12" escapes me), but I seem to remember it was rather good.

Finally, despite the fact that it will mark me down in audiophile circles, I use iTunes m4a because back in the day when I had a rather weedy iPod (3rd generation 20GB) I did notice that m4a files were marginally smaller than their mp3 counterparts, with no discernible loss in quality. What with excellent freeware like foobar2000, Audacity, Monkey's Audio etc. I assume this will not cause anyone too many problems. Only downside is that you get my Grouping labels...

Thanks for the feedback,

Barbi-Q
